About this collection in progress

The paintings in this series will be inspired by the complexities of human interactions in settings that may seem glamorous at first glance but can be somewhat stifling at a second glance. Each painting will feature something disrupting the seaming perfection of a fancy event.

The paintings in this series are in oil on aluminum board or plexiglass. The choice of the material to paint on is down to using plenty of texture, which looks its best on substrates such as aluminium or plexiglass. The painting technique used combines the layering of tiny brushstrokes in painting skin with broader and more abstract brushwork on the dresses of the figures.
